Investing in Solar PV

If you are looking to purchase a safe, structurally sound Solar PV system by an MCS Accredited installer look no further, Holts Electrical Contractors, Bristol tick all of the above boxes. With energy prices continuing to rise Solar PV is an investment opportunity that is hard to miss, with the government Feed-in Tariff now in place and a possibility of lowering your electricity bill this would be a great way to save on electricity, sell any energy you don't use back to your electricity supplier and do your bit for the environment.

Investing in a Solar PV system means that as well as producing clean green electricity that can be used in your home, you could also be generating an income from the electricity that you produce and be protecting yourself from rising energy costs. This is called the Feed-in Tariff and is a Government backed scheme to encourage homeowners to generate green electricity. The scheme offers generous payments for homeowners for energy produced from renewable sources like Solar power.

Government Feed-in Tariff

The feed-in tariff introduced on the 1st April 2010 showed that owners of small scale Solar PV installations were receiving 41.3p for every kWh (Kilowatt hour) of energy generated for the next 25 years. As of the 12th December 2011 this has now decreased to 0.21p for every kWh, this rate is still under consultation from the UK Governement. Below are a few facts about the feed-in tariff:

* Your can receive a payment (tariff) from your electricity company of up to 0.21p per kWh of energy generated. You are also making a saving on any electricity used.

* The tariff is non-taxable and will increase with inflation.

* It applies for 25 years from the date of system installation, commission and hand over, so for 25 years you will be paid for the electricity you generate and feed back to your electrcity supplier.

* In order for your system to qualify for the feed-in tariff it must be installed by an MCS accredited installer. Holts Electrical Contractors is an MCS accredited installer.

* So if you are looking for a trusted MCS accredited installer in Bristol to give you a competitive Quotation, excellent Solar PV installation that will save you money on your electricity bill, just call Holts Electrical Contractors our details are on our contact page.
